NIMRAT KAUR – Film Actress
Nimrat Kaur - was born in 1982 at Pilani Rajastan.
Starting her career as a print model, Nimrat moved to doing theater with
directors Sunil Shanbag and Manav Kaul in Mumbai. She was
part of plays like Baghdad Wedding, All About Women and Red
Sparrow. She has also been a part of the Mumbai theatre circle for the past
nine years.
Nimrat stars opposite Irrfan Khan in Ritesh Batra's'
“Lunchbox”. The film set in Mumbai, has been woven around the famous dabbawala
(lunchbox) service of the city.
Her Cannes' first was with Anurag
Kashyap's production Peddlers
in 2012 and 'Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana'. Nimrat attended Cannes
festival for second time for “Lunchbox”. It bagged the Critics Week Viewers
Choice Award at the 66th Cannes Film Festival in May this year.
Before venturing into films, Nimrat has been part
of various commercials and music videos. Nimrat did latest Cadbury Dairy
Milk-Silk commercial.
