
SAGARIKA GHATGE –
Film Actress
Sagarika Ghatge - born on 8th
January 1986, at Kholapur, Maharashtra in
a Maratha family and went to Chatrapati Shahu Vidyalaya in Kolhapur until 8th
grade. Completed 10th and 12th grades at Mayo College Girls School, Ajmer,
Rajasthan and graduation from HR college, Mumbai. Her father
Vijaysinh is closely related to the royal family of Kolhapur.
Completed
Kishore Namit Kapoor's acting training course. Used to play hockey in college.
Got many offers to act in ad films while studying in college but refused to
undertake them, till completed my graduation.
In 2007, Sagarika
portrayed Preeti Sabarwal, a fictional member of the Indian women's national hockey team,
in the movie, Chak De! India.
Ghatge appeared
in the 2009 film, Fox as Urvashi Mathur. She later portrayed
Kamiah in Miley Naa Miley Hum. Ghatge's first lead
role is opposite Emraan Hashmi in the movie Rush, which released on October 24, 2012.
Ghatge has appeared in Satish Rajwade's Marathi movie Premachi Goshta with
Actor Atul Kulkarni
which was released in February 2013. Premachi Goshta was her first Marathi
movie.
She became the
brand ambassador of Reebok India.
She has appeared in fashion magazines and various fashion shows.
For her role in Chak
De! India, Ghatge received the Screen Award for Best Supporting
Actress alongside all the Chak De! Girls. She was also rewarded with a
Lions Gold Award.
