KISHORE - Film
Actor
Kishore - A student of
National College, Basavanagudi, he started off with college theatre during his
degree days doing plays like Teregalu and Samrata Ashoka. Kishore then did his
masters in Kannada literature from Bangalore University. Then he started
teaching at Sharada College, where he lasted a whole two years.
He was working
as a lecturer at a women's college in Bangalore and as a part-time fashion
designer . He worked under
fashion designer Vidyasagar, a professor from IIFT.
One
of his friend who was to design costumes for a film asked him whether he was
interested in the job. But when he called Babu, associate director to Bharath
who directed the Kannada film “Kanti”, he was offered a role in it. That began
his career in Films.
After
acting in a couple of Kannada films, he was approached by director Vetrimaran
to work in the Dhanush-starrer Desiyanedunchaalai — he was looking for an actor
who could speak Tamil with a Kannada accent. Later the film was dropped, but he
got a chance to act in Polladhavan.
After
making his acting debut in the kannada film "Kanti", he went on to
appear in a number of Kannada-language films, before debuting and establishing
himself in the Tamil film industry. He has also acted in the Telugu film Happy, starring Allu Arjun.
His best known
films include Duniya, Akash,
Raakshasa, Polladhavan, Happy & Huli.
Known for
playing characters that fit the bill of the anti-hero — be it a cop,
politician, or character role, the reticent Kishore has also made a space for
himself in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam films.
